Four of Utah's incredible queer organizations have teamed up to celebrate the release of her new book, AS YOU WAKE, BREAK THE SHELL - a sci-fi novel about surviving through found family and tenacious hope amidst environmental collapse. Two-time Hugo Award-winning author, Becky Chambers is one of the most prominent and impactful science fiction authors of our time. This is her first visit to Salt Lake and first novel in years, so embrace this rare opportunity to hear her on tour! The event is hosted in collaboration with The Legendarium, Under the Umbrella, the Queer Student Union of Utah, and the University of Utah Gender Studies Program. Legendarium and Under the Umbrella are sponsoring $5 admission for students, with any school ID (code: hopepunk). If you were an early bird in getting tickets, we will honor the original price you paid, instead of the new, slightly higher ticket price necessary for hosting in this beautiful space. If you do want to meet Becky Chambers in person, and have your signed book personalized after the event, you will need to purchase the difference between your original ticket price and the new Tier 1 ticket. We have limited numbers of personalization tickets, so if you do want this option, please reach out to the Kingsbury Hall Box Office at [email protected].
