Our orchestra performs a selection of stirring 19th-century anthems by Romantic-era composers, including Grieg, Smetana, Strauss, Berlioz, Elgar, Wagner, and Verdi, each honoring a particular nationality. The final work on the evening’s travel itinerary is none other than Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," Europe's official anthem and a reflection of its motto—"United in Diversity."
